Other Craftiness

Above is a washcloth I made my brother for our birthday. It's the simple "Grandmother's Favorite" pattern and was made with a dark blue (but not as dark as navy) ball of Cotlin from KnitPicks. I love Cotlin. It's cotton and linen and is best for washcloths - faces not dishes. It gets softer the more you use it. Hopefully he'll enjoy it! I am working on a couple of other things and have finished something for Den for Christmas. I have the yarn to start Amy's hat and should get to that. I will once I finish a few things.
A friend of mine has a birthday coming up this Sunday and I am going to start putting together what I want to send her after she moves. I hope she's having a good time visiting her family and that the road trip was fun but uneventful. Let me know if you read this Kaylee!
So I am still knitting and crocheting and doing things. Until I go back to work tomorrow and get *really* tired. :)

Matt's Bibs

Before vacation I made three bibs for Matt. The variegated one and the yellow one have a chick in the middle. I liked the variegated color so much I ended up making him a third bib. The only thing was the original pattern called for ruffles around the edge and I didn't like that so I modified the pattern. That bib turned out like this:

Vacation Projects for Andrew

While on vacation I realized the Andrew, my brother's grandson, had only received one hat from me when he was just about a month old. He is so adorable. He needs homemade things. He needs love from Great Aunt Lynn. So I started working on a few things. First I hit the sale at Joann's my first full day in New Hampshire and bought the fleece to make him his own blanket. Typical kid one - 1.5 yeards instead of 2. It looks like this:

So then I obviously had to make him something else. And I had this yarn I had purchased last year in Dover (NH) at the yarn store that was sitting there doing nothing and right before I left for vacation I got his idea that a New Hampshire boy needed a New Hampshire scarf made from wool from New Hampshire sheep, hand spun and dyed in New Hampshire. So I found a very simple scarf pattern that I could continue to follow without instructions that I thought would make a nice scarf for Andrew. The pattern was called "Mistake Rib" which is really easy. Anyway, the end product looked like this:

Ah and then it came to me that while I had made bibs for Matt, I hadn't made one for Andrew. So I saw a cotton variegated that I liked and made this:
Now all I need to do is make him a hat for this winter. I expect I'll be searching for a child's hat pattern soon. Hopefully something fast and easy and not too darn big. Last hat I tried to make was way too big.

But now Andrew has some homemade love from Great Aunt Lynn. He certainly deserves it!

Oh yeah, in case you're wondering... here's Andrew (Isn't he adorable!):

Fall Into Autumn Swap - My Package!!

Patty, my swap partner, is so sweet! She sent me sugar free chocolate in my package! And a great bar of homemade soap and yarn and the dishcloths were beautiful! I apologize that I have no pictures but I put everything away before I left on my 2 week vacation and ate the chocolate so everything is scattered about. I will try to get together the dishcloths and soap and take a picture when I am finally organized. OK, OK, when I finish putting everything away. If you know me, you know I'm organized but it takes work.

Thank you Patty!!!
