Pretty in Pink

Thanks to my backgrounds colors I can't write this in pink but I promised a picture of the pretty pink Feather and Fan dishcloth I made with the self striping cotton from Sugar & Creme and here it is... and I'm sure you'll agree that it works up beautifully. I think this was the perfect pattern for the color and will attempt a different pattern with the other ball of pink but when I use the blue, I will do the feather and fan pattern. I was in Joann's a couple of nights ago and saw a couple other colors but I am going to wait until I get to New Hampshire and the Joann's there (I'll look elsewhere, too!) because at $2.29/ball, it's a bit expensive and if I can save tax, I will ship myself a bunch. I usually end up shipping a box to myself at work anyway. But here it is... and yes, this one's for me. :)

Fall Into Autumn Topic of the Week

When you knit or crochet dishclothes, washclothes or face clothes, what do you use? What size needle or hook? Wood? what type? Metal? Plastic? A specific Brand? Why do you love that needle or hook so much? Is there one you are dying to try? Is there a particular yarn you love and use all the time for clothes? What is so special about it?

I usually use regular Sugar & Creme cotton yarn to make my dishcloths but I have also used Crayon cotton from KnitPicks (kinda hard to work with but nice results) and I have used Cotlin from Knitpicks and absolutely *love* the feel. It gets softer with use. What I am currently in love with, however, is expensive so I will buy it in New Hampshire on vacation where there is no tax - Sugar & Creme self-striping cotton. It's so gorgeous! And I will have to post a picture of the feather and fan dishcloth I made for myself with the pink because you will not believe how beautiful it works up!

When I knit, I usually use size 7 bamboo needles unless I'm using the "grandmother's favorite" pattern and then it's size 8 plastic because at the time I purchased the needles there were no size 8 bamboo available! I have used metal and originally when I learned to knit, that's all there was available. Then came plastic into the marketplace. I love the bamboo. For crochet I usually use a size K because I have a tendency to knit or crochet tightly. That is why when I knit I move up one size and same for when I crochet.

As I mentioned above, I truly love the self-striping cotton and if I could, I would use that all the time for patterns that didn't have designs in them. For patterns with designs, if I could I would always use the medium pink (or rose) color Sugar & Creme cotton. Anything pink!
